Shazam, 20 years of discovering music

Shazam, born in 2002, has revolutionized the world and the way to discover music over these 20 years.

Back in 2002, when smartphones and apps did not exist, you would have called a number to make it “listen” to the song through your phone’s microphone. Then you would have received the SMS with the song’s title and the artist.

Today is much more straightforward than in the past; just tap on the app, and it will recognize the song in a few seconds. With more than 225 million monthly users, Shazam is the world-recognizable music discovery app.

Now, after 20 years of this excellent music service, Apple (which in 2018 bought the company) has released the Top20 of most “Shazammed” songs ever.
